My Advent Prayer
Come Lord Jesus,
come and rest in our
hearts
this Advent season.
Bless us and guide us
as we await your
birthday.
With great joy and
deep gratitude
we look forward to
this very special
celebration of Your
Birth.
In these days of
Advent then,
change us, soften our
hearts,
and forgive our sins,
that we
might greet You
this Christmas with
pure hearts,
hearts ready to
forgive,
hearts ready to
celebrate.
Come Lord Jesus
come and rest in our
hearts
this Advent season and
always.
Amen. |

"Our
Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, a community in the Whitman/Pennsport sections
of the City of Philadelphia, seeks to live in the way, truth and life
of Jesus Christ. With the same gratitude born from the faith and courage
of Mary our Mother we strive to build community with healing, hope, tolerance
and forgiveness. Through our sacramental, educational and social ministries
we seek to deepen our awareness as followers of Jesus; being a people
filled with compassion who regard the dying, the poor and those most in
need as the sign of Christ among us. We strive to improve the quality of life
for all our neighbors regardless of nationality or belief, and we commit
to seek out effective ministries to our youth and young adults who are
the future of our parish. We pray for the guidance and protection of the
Holy Spirit that we may all be counted among the saints when they go marching
into paradise."
